For the sixth time, the MusicDays are transforming the town of Vianden into a stage for musical discovery. The festival opens with the Calmus Ensemble Leipzig and Maurice Clement (organ) at the Trinitarian Church, presenting a program that spans from the Renaissance to Romantic and contemporary vocal music.<\/p>\n

At the castle, the concert \u201cDer Ruf des Horns\u201d<\/em> features works by Mozart, Brahms, Reuter, and Kurt\u00e1g, where the horn serves as a sonic thread connecting different musical eras.<\/p>\n

The Anaphora Trio takes over the Ancien Cin\u00e9ma with an evening of jazz that blends techno-inspired rhythms, improvisation, and non-European influences.<\/p>\n

For children and families, \u201cCopp\u00e9lia \u2013 Eng ongew\u00e9inlech Popp\u201d<\/em> tells a whimsical story through music and dance, full of imagination.<\/p>\n

The closing concert brings together Mozart\u2019s intimate Clarinet Quintet and Strauss\u2019s sharp-edged suite \u201cLe Bourgeois gentilhomme\u201d<\/em> \u2013 a final encounter of sonic finesse and stylistic sophistication.<\/p>\n

Old and new, poetry and play come into dialogue \u2013 there\u2019s something for everyone to enjoy.<\/p>\n

For this exceptional concert, Kammerata Luxembourg welcomes the renowned Calmus Ensemble from Leipzig \u2013 a vocal quintet that has captivated audiences for over 25 years with its precise tone, stylistic diversity, and profound musical expression. Together with Maurice Clement, Kammerata\u2019s organist, a true musical dialogue unfolds: between voices and the breath of the organ, between the Renaissance and contemporary creation, between formal rigor and sonic freedom.<\/p>\n

The evening revolves around the four elements \u2013 water, earth, air, and fire \u2013 symbols of both the forces of nature and inner states of being. The cycle Les \u00e9l\u00e9ments de l\u2019\u00eatre<\/em>, composed especially for Calmus by Harald Banter, finds its counterpart in the Duetti<\/em> by Johann Sebastian Bach \u2013 refined organ pieces brought to life by Maurice Clement as mirror-like responses. Between these poles, spaces open up for improvisation, folk songs reimagined by Brahms, and vocal works from the Renaissance by William Byrd.<\/p>\n

The result is a contemplative and intense musical dialogue \u2013 about the power of nature, the beauty of the voice\u2026 and what unfolds in the silences between the sounds.<\/p>\n
