Concert on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at 5:00 PM in the Festival Hall Vic. Abens
The Brass Band Hessen, consisting of 26 brass players and 4 percussionists under the direction of their inspiring musical leader Hans-Reiner Schmidt, set out in 2008 to leave their own musical mark on the concert scene.
The band nurtures a repertoire of brass band music that is still largely undiscovered in the country and enriches it with their own compositions and arrangements. The identity of Brass Band Hessen is defined by a distinctive sound, cross-genre programs, and the highest standards of quality. The band regularly collaborates with internationally acclaimed guest soloists.
In entertaining yet sophisticated concert programs, the musicians from Hessen impress with their obvious joy of playing, surprising, moving, and captivating the audience.
The sustainable development of the band is guided by Hans-Reiner Schmidt, who follows his philosophy of creating a unique sound identity and a distinctive Brass Band brand, tirelessly directing and promoting the band. His drive to advance the band, help it thrive, and open it to new horizons in terms of repertoire, musical expression, and presence on renowned concert stages, characterizes his work.
As a result of this dedication, Brass Band Hessen has delighted audiences at several prestigious music festivals in their home region of Hesse, and is a welcome guest at events such as the Burgfestspiele Bad Vilbel, the Limburger Meisterkonzerte, the Nieder-Mooser Konzertsommer, the Bad Hersfelder Festspiele, and the grand hr4 Christmas Concert of the Hessischer Rundfunk.
The concerts of Brass Band Hessen offer a captivating listening experience with a signature touch.
