MUSICDAYS VIANDEN 2026 – Shadow Worlds
31.10.2026 at 19.30 o’clock – Shadow Worlds
“When darkness falls and music brings invisible worlds to life, a journey beyond the everyday begins.”
With its Halloween programme, Kammerata Luxembourg invites audiences into a world of mystery, enchantment and the supernatural. Shadow Worlds brings together chamber music, literature and contemporary soundscapes in an immersive experience where reality gradually gives way to imagination.
At the heart of this extraordinary evening is guest artist Carolina Eyck, one of the world’s leading theremin players. Her instrument—played without physical contact yet capable of extraordinary expressive power—guides the audience through a sonic landscape of ghostly tones, hidden presences and unsettling beauty.
As the evening unfolds, witches, spirits and dark legends emerge from the shadows. Texts by Shakespeare, Edgar Allan Poe, Henry James and Guy de Maupassant intertwine with music by Debussy, Mussorgsky, Britten, Ligeti, Saariaho, Philip Glass and others, creating an atmospheric and immersive narrative. Dream and reality begin to blur, transformations take shape, and the invisible suddenly seems almost within reach.
Look forward to a haunting evening in which music and storytelling reveal what lies beyond our perception, giving a voice to the hidden forces of the imagination.
